“Our challenge centred around reducing budgets, reducing workforce and rising citizen expectations. That, coupled with the opportunities and challenges of being one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, created a burning platform on which to drive cultural change through an engaged workforce.
To support the organisation going through a significant period of change we focused our efforts on cultivating an engaged workforce; clearly communicating issues to staff; listening to and understanding their views; and harnessing ideas, energy and creativity from across the organisation.
Our approach centred on our belief that staff are best placed to inform and help drive forward service improvement and an improved culture. Through staff led campaigns, Ambassadors / Manager forums and senior management leadership we have developed the building blocks required for authentic, sustainable employee engagement.”
